Measuring Amazon sales from QR scans

Use an Amazon Attribution link on your products so you can see which Amazon purchases came from your QR codes.

Swapt shows you how many people scanned, signed up, and clicked through to buy. But the purchase itself happens on Amazon, and Amazon doesn't share that with anyone by default. To close the loop, give each product an Amazon Attribution link. Every Shop Now click from your Swapt pages then goes through that link, and Amazon reports the sales it leads to.

How it fits together

In Amazon Ads, you create an Attribution tag for your products.

In Swapt, you paste that tag into the product's Attribution link.

Your Swapt pages send shoppers through the tag whenever they tap to buy that product.

Amazon Attribution shows the clicks, and the purchases that followed.

1. Create the Attribution tag in Amazon Ads

These steps happen in Amazon, so the exact names may shift as Amazon updates its tools.

In Amazon Ads, go to Advertising → Campaign Manager, open Measurements, and choose Amazon Attribution.

Create a new campaign and give it a clear name, such as "Swapt tracking link". Choose the products (ASINs) you want to track — one or several.

Fill in the attribution details. Add a label if it helps you sort things later (for example, the product category). Set the Publisher to Swapt, and pick a Channel — Email works, the exact choice is up to you.

Enter the click-through URL, the Amazon page shoppers should land on. For a product page, use https://www.amazon.com/tp/<ASIN>, swapping in your ASIN.

Click Create, then find your link under Attribution Tags and copy it.

If you're tracking several products, make sure each Swapt product gets the tag that points to its own Amazon page.

Go to Storefronts → My Products.

Click the product to open Edit product, then click Add link next to Attribution link.

Paste the tag and click Save. The link has to start with http:// or https://.

Setting up lots of products? Use Bulk edit on My Products and fill in the Attribution link column for each one. See Storefronts.

3. Put a buy button on your pages

The attribution link is used anywhere Swapt sends a shopper to buy that product:

If a product has no attribution link, Swapt falls back to its regular product page — so the button still works, but Amazon won't attribute the sale. In the Shop Now product picker, a product with nothing to link to at all is marked no link.

A good place for Shop Now is the success page, right after the customer claims their reward: they're already thinking about your product, and a discount code in hand is a reason to buy again.

4. Read the results

You'll see results in two places:

WhereWhat it tells you
Amazon Attribution in Amazon AdsClicks through your tag and the Amazon purchases that followed.
Swapt Analytics and Storefronts → PerformanceScans, sign-ups, and Shop product clicks — the top of the funnel before Amazon.

Put them side by side: Swapt tells you how many people you sent to Amazon, and Amazon Attribution tells you how many of them bought.

On the Integrations page, under Ad Attribution, there's also an Amazon Ads (Conversions API) card. It does something different:

You can use both. To answer "did my QR codes sell more product on Amazon?", start with the attribution link.
